With the ongoing improvements of technology, I'm find myself in a new minority. I'll call us the Analog Thought Organizers.
At the time I took this picture I was one of maybe fifteen people in the CC's coffee house on the corner of Magazine Street and Jefferson Avenue. I was the only one with a pen. Not just a fountain pen like the one in the picture, I was the only person I saw with any pen. Or a pencil. There wasn't even a kid with a crayon.
Now don't get me wrong. I LOVE my tech stuff. My Mac's and all of their accouterments get used all the time. I'm not sure you can be a photographer of any stripe these days and not use tech, but I have to organize my thoughts on paper. Restarting this blog in ernest is going to take organization. I have to be able to scribble and scratch out and outline. Or at least make a bulleted list of the points I want to hit. Otherwise it all devolves into rambling.
Maybe I like tactile sensation of it all. Maybe I'm looking for an excuse to be contrary. I'm getting pickier as time goes on too. I like nice pens and nice paper. Right down the block from that coffee shop is Scriptura. If you're in New Orleans and want to check out some fine paper goods, It's the place to go. Also one of the best places in town to get your wedding invites. There is also a location by Lakeside Mall in Metairie if you don't want to fight the construction and parking situation uptown right now.
